1. We Protect Kids' Privacy

We adhere to the goals and guidelines that are put forth by regulatory documents and bodies such as the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (COPPA), the Center for Media Education (CME), the Children's Advertising Review Unit (CARU) of the Council of Better Business Bureaus and other organizations who are devoted to providing a safe online community for children.

BrainPOP Jr. adheres to the highest standards of privacy and does not sell or otherwise share any individually identifiable information or any information about our users to third parties.

BrainPOP Jr. does NOT:

  • Collect more information from children than is reasonably necessary for them to participate in activities.

  • Entice children, by the prospect of a special game, prize or other activity, to provide more information than is necessary to participate in the activity.

  • Share any personal information about children with third parties.

  • Post anywhere on the website any email that is sent to or from our users.

Why We Collect Information

BrainPOP Jr. collects a minimal amount of information from users in order to better serve their interests.

We collect this information for the following reasons:
1) EMAIL: So that children are able to express their questions and ideas and receive a personal answer from our characters in the "Ask Annie and Moby" sections.
2) So that individuals may post artwork or writing on the site.
3) So we can deliver the most relevant content to students, teachers, and families.

When a user joins, he or she fills fill out a form that asks for the following information:

CHILD'S EMAIL
CHILD'S NAME
COUNTRY
STATE
TELEPHONE NUMBER (optional)
HOW DID YOU HEAR ABOUT BRAINPOP JR.?
WHICH OF THESE DESCRIBES YOU? (TEACHER, PARENT, STUDENT)

Parental Notice

When children join, we require a "parent email address" in keeping with standard industry safety guidelines for children. This enables us to notify parents that their child has joined BrainPOP Jr. Parents may change their child's information or cancel their child's account at anytime.
